Welcome

I would love to invite you into my home to have a cup of tea with me. We could sit in my sunny kitchen and talk about all the things that are going on in our lives. I could share with you the news I hear from my grown daughters. How my grandkids are growing. We could laugh together over the funny things that they have said. It would be fun to share the ins and outs of our family life, and talk about our latest creative projects. We could share what God has been teaching us, in our personal lives, and encourage each other on this walk of faith. We could pray together, laugh together, and even cry together. Since most of us will never be able to sit down together face to face, I would like to invite you to join me here. So come on in and have a cup of tea with me.

About Me

Crossville, Tennessee, United States
I am a 61 year old, wife, married to my best friend for 40 years. We have been blessed with 6 children, & 13 grandchildren. I love mentoring women in their spritual walk & in the everyday. I have a diverse background, having spent over 30 years living and ministering in a small South American country. Now my family resides in a small town in the lovely state of Tennessee. We have experienced the blessing of adoption, but also the hard of dealing with a child with RAD and other mental health issues. You can live life with the cup half full or half empty the choice is yours. I choose half full.

Life keeps going...

I have to apologize for not keeping up with this blog.  I had great intentions when I started last January, posting about our experience of Carla's surgery.

I will tell you that her surgery was on Oct. 8, 2013.  It was a much bigger deal than they anticipated, but praise the Lord, he had all the details figured out.

She spent 8 days in the Hospital.  Her recovery was amazing.  I was so proud of her courage and the way she handled it all.  We thank God for opening all the doors necessary to get her the help she needed and for his healing hand on her life.

We have been back in Ecuador now for almost 10 months.  During this time, we have been able to get permanent residence visas for Tony and I.  Our daughter Alexis and her family have come to work with us and we are enjoying having 2 of our grand children close by.

This Sunday, we will be celebrating our churches 10th anniversary!  It doesn't really seem possible that it has been 10 years since we started the work here.  We are so thankful for all that God is doing and has done here with us and through us.

I know that God has great plans for this ministry and we are excited to see how he leads in the next months.

On Wednesday our family will be flying back to the States for 6 weeks.  During that time we will visit 7 churches and be traveling from Virginia, to Tennessee, to Missouri, to Michigan, to Ohio, then back to Tennessee and then Virginia!  It is going to be a busy and CRAZY 6 weeks, but we are excited for the opportunity to be in some of our supporting churches, and to present our work in a new church.  Also it will be wonderful to be able to visit our 2 daughters living in the States and their families.  Hoping to be able to welcome grand baby #9 to the family, too! :)

Besides all the fun of that, Tony and I will be having our medical check-ups in TN, and Carla will have her cardio check-up at UVA before we head back to Ecuador on March 18.

I am very thankful for your prayers and support of our ministry here in Manta, Ecuador.  God is working and lives are being changed.

Blessings,
Joy
